Just wanted to check in to see how everyone's year is going so far?? My kids are so excited for Halloween, so today the OT that I share my room with and I decorated our rooms to look more Halloweenish! Kids should be excited come Monday!! Anyone go to Closing the Gap?? I so wanted to go, but it didn't work out for me this year.
Here's a joke for you all! Being from a farming community, I thought it was kinda funny:
A farm boy accidentally overturned his wagonload of corn. The farmer who lived nearby heard the noise and yelled over to the boy, "Hey Willis, forget your troubles. Come visit with us. I'll help you gidder up later."
"That's mighty nice of you," Willis answered, "but I don't think Pa would like me to."
"Aw come on boy," the farmer insisted.
"Well okay," the boy finally agreed, and added, "but Pa won't like it."
After a hearty dinner, Willis thanked his host. "I feel a lot better now, but I know Pa aint gonna like it none, he's gonna be mighty upset."
"Don't be foolish! I promised I'ld help with yer wagon." the neighbor said with a smile. "By the way, where is he?"
"Under the wagon."

I went to Closing the Gap and went to all of Karen's presentations. I think there were 5 in total. I have listened to Karen and Dave a ton, but always learn something new whenever I listen to either of them. I am absolutely awed by all the research Karen is doing. We're so fortunate that she is coming back to Minnesota.Check out the deaf blind project on Karen's web site. Gretchen Hanser is doing some amazing things and has great handouts and videos.
