Another Website of Interest

I think we told everyone about Barb's Highland Park website during the camp, but this is a reminder that you ought to check it out as an example of (1) what you might do with your own kids, (2) ways you can augment the interest and learning of your students (and yourself) with free technologies.

Check out these web sites!

Thanks, Derrick, for setting up this blog!

In case you haven't had a chance to check, Dave has great information on his web site. He adds to his social bookmarks regularly and is going to be writing a literacy blog. You can even email him about topics you'd like him to address.

You can also find valuable information from Karen's web site. As an example, Gretchen Hanser, who directs the Deaf Blind Project, has a wonderful page with many downloadable materials. Click on this link to view it.

I look forward to seeing everyone in November.

Literacy Camp 2008

Way to go Derrick! Glad to see we have a group blog. Here's some news you all can share with colleagues and families. We just settled on literacy camp dates for next summer: July 25-31 (Thursday to Thursday). Adults participants come in for instruction like you did July 25 and 26. Kids arrive July 26 and literacy camp runs July 27-31. Karen is going to be unable to squeeze it in her hectic schedule, but she is being ably replaced by Sally Clendon this summer. Sally finished her spectacular graduate career with Karen last year and is now working at the Sydney University in Australia. She has attended and co-taught all of the courses/camps we do on a regular basis and is extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to Barb for coordinating again, and Roger for figuring out the schedule.
